eCADSTAR SIGNAL INTEGRITY

 

The eCADSTAR Signal Integrity and eCADSTAR Signal Integrity Advanced modules add sophisticated Signal Integrity Analysis capabilities to eCADSTAR.  These allow for simulation in the Schematic (pre-layout SI) as well as in the PCB Layout (post-layout SI).  Simulation is consistent, intuitive and easy to use throughout the eCADSTAR design process.  Results are displayed in the same results viewer regardless of where the simulation is initiated.

  • Plan impedance-controlled PCBs, avoiding external-tool transcription errors.
  • Plan the topologies (routing order/pin sequence) of your high-speed signals, avoiding predictable glitches, over-engineering, and excess power consumption.
  • Check that the signal integrity you wanted is the signal integrity you’ve got.

eCADSTAR PI/EMI

 

The eCADSTAR PI/EMI module adds sophisticated Power Integrity and EMI Analysis capabilities to eCADSTAR.  Power integrity and EMI analysis are embedded into eCADSTAR.  They share the same design data and simulation library used for Signal Integrity.  Results are displayed in the same results viewer used for Signal Integrity Analysis and IBIS-AMI.

  • Investigate and analyze voltage drop (IR drop)
  • Analyze and display current distribution by signal by layer
  • Perform analysis with virtual design elements, capacitors to consider effects on impedance and study resonant frequencies, and decoupling efficiency

The eCADSTAR IBIS-AMI module adds sophisticated IBIS-AMI Analysis capabilities to the eCADSTAR SI Simulation modules.

  • Analyze SERDES channels (e.g. PCI-Express Gen3+, HDMI, SATA, USB, etc.) based on IBIS-AMI models
  • S-Parameter characterization of the channel
  • Eye diagram results, BER estimation and bath-tub curves
  • Import IBIS AMI devices into the simulation library
