eCADSTAR 2026.0 to Improve PCB Design Performance and Simplify Library Workflows

WESTFORD, Mass., USA, and MUNICH, Germany, May 28, 2026 – Zuken announced eCADSTAR 2026.0, the latest version of its out-of-the-box PCB design solution, delivering performance improvements and enhanced library workflows to help engineering teams work more efficiently in complex and distributed development environments.

As PCB designs increase in size and complexity, managing large libraries and ensuring fast access to design data becomes critical. eCADSTAR 2026.0 addresses these challenges with significantly faster loading of large libraries, local caching, and improved multi-library support—reducing delays and enabling smoother day-to-day design work.

Simplified Library Management and Collaboration
A new local design library generation capability allows teams to create self-contained libraries directly from design data. This simplifies collaboration with partners, supports long-term design maintenance, and reduces the need to manage full master libraries.

eCADSTAR-local-design-library-generation-v2 — Generating a local design library can be very useful for PCB design bureaus, which often have to deliver the schematic and PCB design in eCADSTAR format to their customers and instead of delivering their entire library to customers, they can now deliver a local design library that only contains the library data used in the design.

The release also enhances 3D design workflows with support for multiple libraries and design variants, enabling more accurate visualization of product configurations and improving design validation.

3D_Variation1 — 3D Variation supports fitted and unfitted components, as well as alternate parts, ensuring the correct 3D model, placement outline, and reference designator symbol are displayed based on the selected variant.

Usability Improvements Across Design Workflows
Additional usability improvements across routing, reporting, and design tools help engineers increase productivity and maintain design quality, even as project complexity grows.
